skill issue
/skɪl ˈɪʃuː/
EN
An internet slang phrase used to humorously or sarcastically blame a person's failure or poor performance on their own lack of skill, rather than external factors.
He couldn't beat the boss and said the game was bad, but it's just a skill issue.
Etymology
Originated in online gaming communities in the 2010s, where players would joke that opponents' losses were due to their own lack of skill rather than game design or cheating. It has since spread to general online discourse.
